I’m a big cricket fan. I started playing quik cricket when I was 12 or so but I was show jumping competitively at the time and I didn’t have time for both.
I fell in love with the game during the summer of 2000 when I spent my summer watching England play the West Indies on Channel 4. I was completely hooked. A year or so later I started playing for my local women’s team. Ten years on and I still play for my local team as well as the County team.
I started off as someone who could bowl but couldn’t bat… I had 1 shot it was the pull and that was it. Gradually I started to learn how to bat grudgingly getting higher up the order until I started to like batting. I now bat anywhere from opening to middle order. I used to bowl nippy, skiddy, inswing (from my natural action I’m no where near quick enough for genuine swing) which I still do from time to time especially when I play for the men but I’ve been turned into an off spinner which is nowhere near as exciting, I can’t knock the stumps out of the ground but nothing is better than beating a batsmen through the gate all ends up.
My first love is test cricket, it is the form of the game that I watch the most but any form of the game will do.
My favourite batsmen include; Tendulka; Thorpe; Gayle and Dravid.
My favourite bowlers include; Anderson; Gough; Walsh; Warne and Swann
